Post reader John Rawson was in the city centre on a shopping trip when this incident took place.
A car full of armed police raced into a pedestrian area, officers leapt out and pinned a man to the floor while aiming a gun at him. The street was full of shoppers.
John caught a sequence of pictures on his film camera and took the prints to The Nottingham Evening Post who published this picture. Picture taken on 26/8/2005

I've done this many times in London, ideally you would like to wait to get them a bit more isolated, but circumstances may dictate a non-compliant stop like this one.

We were not big on photos but I have some, just figuring out how to copy and paste them. My vista system is a bit different to use.

sorry, I don't use vista..
I just move the mouse over the picture, right click and select copy.
Then when your in the forum thread, right click and select paste.
Or you can use the image button above if you know the url link for the picture

try right clicking on the picture you want to copy, then look for properties and then copy the full image url e.g http://www.closeprotectionworld.co.u...onworldsig.gif
Then select the image button above and enter the path of the image (the above)

put the photos into an online photo storage account like photobucket.com or shutterfly.com (i use Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket ) when you are shown your album there are the links already done for you if you want to post the actual image [img] or just a link to the image [url] all you have to do is just copy and paste the entire text in the box you want

I can not believe some members of the public could have been prevented or delayed from shopping during this operation. I am sure a few phone complaints were received afterwards from our grateful public.
