Hey guys pretty simple question but one I'm having trouble answering via google- do any other police services in the UK have a flying squad (by any other name)

or is it left upto the Tactical firearms unit outside the met area

Most forces have various 'proactive' CID units, but nothing comparable to the Squad, whose remit and expertise often takes its officers well outside the MPD.

County forces would deal with this type of crime using CID with armed support from TFG.

Unlike SO15, The flying Squad don't have a national remit but, as posted above, if there's a link to London crims, they'll happily deploy where ever.

Although 7(5) can be armed, they still rely on CO19 for support.

Information a little out of date here.......SO15 do not have a national remit. Since the formation of CTU's in other forces, SO15 officers are much less likely to go OMPD.
