Do a course with a commercial Surveillance company and get your cv and head in front of some companies, network till your dead tired of it. It takes a lot of work but the more you do the more successful you will be. Look at the compamnies on the site.

Taff,

Be most carefull with your pre planning... Carrying out Surveillance is a tricky task, when operating on your own turf with a team, let alone away from home with out experience....

The list of things to be considered, not least your legal status is long and detailed.... I know a small bear has sent a few onto you... He and I are both very experience at this game and I would still be carefull if it was the pair of us going..

Good luck and remeber... Target fixation kills...

Hi James

have you done a surveilance driving course?

Most companies want you to be both a footie and a driver, most work is on an ad hoc basis so get your CV around some of the companies and make some phone calls.
Feel free to ask more questions

As regards surveillence in Turkey , tread carefully, the turks have very extensive laws regarding Covert Suriveillence and taking photos of Turkish nationals can be dodgy ground if you get rumbled. (bear in mind Midnight Express LOL )
I work out in Eastern Europe quite a bit and Turkey is one country I normally skip unless as previously stated it is a straight forward photo / video job... dont get drawn into the whole request for proof of marriage etc.... sticky wicket in that region.
Not trying to burst the bubble mate and good luck to you in your new field ... PM me if I can assist you with any advice in this region.

Taff

See if you can utilize a local. With what is going on in Turkey with the PKK, Iraq etc., you need to be very very careful there.

Taff,

Good advice all round. I am the COO of a Global intelligence gathering company (Grand Investigative Security Services - Home) I have conducted suspicious death claims and Surveillance all around the world and I'm a great advocate of using a good reliable, and more importantly licenced agency 'in country'. I've taken the liberty of attaching a link below who may be able to help. By the time you add up your travel time, accommodation and flights as well as per diem and time on the ground you may find it more cost effective. See how much the client will pay then broker it and take your cut off the top.
Hope this helps?
Rgds,
Steve
