This advert may be useful for anyone looking for an Investigator/Surveillance job. You need experience in conducting police/military investiagtions. **I am not associated with this Add, I have put it up for anyone who has this experience:
Our Client develops sophisticated satellite broadcasting systems and is looking to expand their Security Unit with the addition of a Security Investigator. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for investigating incidents of copyright theft and fraudulent use of technology, typically associated with misuse of Smart Cards and Set top boxes. Candidates are likely to have a Police, Military or Government background and be familiar with the correct approach to Criminal Investigation. The Security Unit is a small division responsible for protecting against piracy and fraudulent use of technology across both commercial and public environments. They are responsible for analysing threats, investigating sources and collating information to enable protection of theirs and their customers' business interests. The division has responsibility across Europe. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of UK Security, working within a team and on individual assignments, the candidate will be primarily responsible for investigating incidents of copyright theft and fraudulent use of technology. Typically this is associated with attempts to compromise the technology, or misuse of Smart Cards and Set top boxes. The Security Investigator will research sources claiming to provide such technology and procure the technology for analysis. Investigations will develop through information gathering through to the point where the company is able to fully understand the associated risks and progress to criminal proceedings if necessary. The role will involve a range of investigation activities, including extensive Internet searching, surveillance and undercover operations. Documentation of the research and investigations will be paramount to the development of security risk analysis and will be conducted within the framework of criminal law legislation. Skills requirements: To be able to work with the minimum of supervision and have the ability to research both documents/Internet to identify offenders and thus generate their own work. To be able to conduct Criminal investigations and be able to prepare statements, documents and files for use in court prosecutions and presentations. To have a sound knowledge of Criminal Law when conducting criminal investigations into piracy issues, theft and fraud offences affecting the company. Specific knowledge of Copyright legislation and Intellectual property will be highly desirable. Knowledge of FACT, PACE, 'RIPA' (Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act) and the use of CHISs will also be ideal. Be capable of working as an 'undercover operative' on behalf of the department and be fully conversant with the regulations governing such action. To have the ability and knowledge to work with outside agencies such as Police and Trading Standards. To be fully experienced in surveillance techniques both mobile and on foot. To be fully experienced in interviewing and have a sound knowledge of the criminal law governing such interviews; must be a good communicator. Clean Driving Licence and no Criminal Record. Personal Skills: Excellent Communication skills. Flexible, self motivated, and well-organised Confident, tenacious and resilient. A logical and methodical approach to problem solving. Willing to travel within the UK for at least 2 to 3 days per week. Candidates are likely to have a Police Force, Military or Government body background where they will have been taught the correct approach to Criminal Investigation practice. The role is based in Maidenhead and candidates will be expected to be within reasonable commuting distance.
