I've recenly had to start refreshing some of my first aid quals, and did an advinced first aid course with these guys.
A very small company that operates out of a lovely little area in the Peak District, offering courses at great prices. The owner/instructor is a hugely experianced mountain/remote area medic who spends a lot of time in the Himalayas and the like. She's very good. They also use freelance instructors, one of whom on one of my courses was a trained paramedic and contractor with ArmourGroup (if I remember rightly) and a very very good instructor. Well worth a look. High Peak First Aid - Home |

Agreed; ExMed are spot on, their MIRA 1 and 2 courses are very good. Min requirement for access to these courses is a recognised 4 day HSE qual or equivilent. Not cheap at about £1k each but very good, with a good reputation; the courses are certified by the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
ExMed also did the expedition medicine for the Long Way Down expedition. |
