Guys
Could we just make the distinction between "medical" courses for CPO's etc and "medic" courses. Most courses availible privatly are for persons wishing to extend their medical skills secondary to their primary role as an operator. Most "medics" have more of an extensive background based on clinical training and experience as well as trauma, as oppossed to a short intro to trauma management along FPOS standards with an in-country emphasis, etc. Doing a course from any private coy will not make you a medic. In saying that DMI, ERS or Prometheus are good shouts. Taff |

cpmedic
you're either very easily upset or have a massive chip on your shoulder. Every other post you seem to patronise, put down or criticise. Instead of pulling people to bits for misuse of words or for 'not being as good or as qualified as you', why not help!! |

Hi all,
Thanks for your input and I am considering and checking websites on everyone's advise... As long as Desertranger you last comment, its ok mate, no harm on his thread as cpmedic possibly be more experience in this field and I suggest (politely) that don't take it the wrong way. You rightly said the whole point of this forum is to help each other who are new or seeking advise. Let's keep it that way. Thanks once again for your input. DH |

The Canadians present a good quality course for Combat Life Supporters. It is presented to their mil guys. maybe have a look at something called combat life supporter. Training include placing IV's etc. I'm also new to this site and agree guys lets help each other and give advise, that's why I'm here. It's great being a medic BUT it's even better if you got another shooter in the team with good medical knowledge to assist. Let's face it when it goes down there is never just one casualty. I'll keep on looking for tactical med courses. Wilderness not good as it deals with exposure and stuff from nature etc. It's good to have but you need Tacmed for this bussiness. Cheers. |

Can i recommend the Hyperbaric Centre in the wirral. I completed the Diver Medical Course and the PHTLS course. The training facilities are very comprehensive as well as the quality of instruction and the price is amazing value for money.
