HALO61 will become famous soon enough
A Heads Up Gentlemen:

The HALO Corporation will present “The ART of DETERRENCE” workshop in Israel. This is the most comprehensive set of exercises, lecturers and insights available. In this critical location, Subject Matter Experts will walk you through this historic land with one objective in mind - to enhance your existing capabilities and to equip you with practical methods to deal with security threats, whether terrorist or criminal, and apply them immediately once you’ve returned to your home countries.

This is not a tour and not a sight-seeing trip. This is a workshop in which you put your best weapon into effect - your mind.

You will learn how to efficiently apply your skills and advantages in any given protected environment. It's one of the very few opportunities that the return on the investment is prompt and forever…

Lecturers, Presenters, and Instructors:

Mr. Yoram Schweitzer, an expert on international terror, joined the JCSS research staff in 2003. He has lectured and published widely on terror-related issues and serves as a consultant to various government ministries.

Brigadier General (Reserve) Eilam was appointed Research Associate at JCSS in 2002. His previous position as Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Defence Mission to Europe was the last in a long career in the service of the IDF, the office of the prime minister, and the MOD.

Until late 2004, Dr. Shtauber served as Israeli ambassador to the United Kingdom, prior to which he was a policy adviser to Prime Minister Ehud Barak. Between 1996 and 1999 he was vice president of Ben-Gurion University.

Dr. Tal is a former senior official of the General Security Service (GSS) dealing with Arab issues for 40 years within the framework of his service in the GSS: and joined the Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies (JCSS) at the Tel Aviv University in 1996

Having looked at the pdf. on the website, does the $6000 include flights etc? I think not. So in effect we are looking at $7500 for basically a set of lectures (by ex-Intelligence staff and Security) and visits to installations ie. Tel Aviv Uni, Train Station, etc and a discourse with the installation Security Managers?

Last day tours are optional, but I see the Airport Security element is held at the airport just before departure. So, we are looking at 6 full days of lectures and visits to installations. I feel this is not value for money and therefore decline your offer.

I have knowledge of Israeli installations and know the costings involved for "tours" (and a quick chat with the inst. security managers thrown in). I am also aware of "fees" for lecturers/experts such as the names you have quoted above.

I feel this is just a rip-off. You state this is "not a tour"...OK then, it's "A guided tour of security systems and proceedures at various potential installation targets". Very good.

I understand you will now come back to defend your costings with statements such as "Costings are due to payments to professionals and lecturers who are at the top of their field, they have a wealth of knowledge....nowhere else can you recieve this level of insight.....value for money blah blah blah."

There is profit, which of course I do not begrudge. I would not expect anyone to provide a service at a loss, but on the other hand, there is taking the p*ss. This offer is definitely taking the blatent p*ss.

Alas, upon scribing, the red mist departeth from mine eyes....Now, where did I put that magazine?

To all concerned:

I passed on Shakespeare's comments to HALO Corp and they have told me:

"The costs indicated are all inclusive. It includes all things that are needed: Flight, hotel, food etc"

The flights are based on flying from North America not Europe, if anyone wants to discuss pricing with HALO Corp into attending they can contact them directly...

Stay Safe

H61 Out!
