mad1 is on a distinguished road
Just a quick bit of info, if anyone's got any. I leave the forces next week after 10 yrs service and am looking at security as my chosen career. I have already got my SIA Licence, Got CP Licence. I currently live in Winchester and am looking for work in Basinstoke,Reading,Camberley,Bracknell etc etc, as m3 is right on my doorstep. I had an Interview last week with reliance and they offered me a possible site manager's position in Poole, l was unsuccessful due to no loss prevention experience. Basically what I've done so is sent my cv/covering letter to Wilson James,Pilgrimsgroup, and sent application forms to VSG,PCL Whitehall Security, applied for jobs with Advance security and securitas statics security and waiting on replies back from G4S and a couple of the above.I'm not interested in retail. But happy with static, manned or corporate. My CV/Covering letter is ok so can't understand why I'm drawing a blank. Any suggestions???????

co19 will become famous soon enough
To be absolutely honest they are more than likely looking for people with commercial experience for management positions. Get some commercial experience at any level and this will lead to other opportunities.

I'm more than willing to start at the bottom as it will then form the solid platform I require to progress, however, you must appreciate that I want more than £6-7 p/h,I simple need better money. I require slightly more than that. I wasn't expecting reliance to offer me that sort of position, I saw the interview as a introduction, and to let them see what I could offer them, ie the type of person I was etc etc. It just feels like the positions I have applied for aren't available or never were. I have applied in the correct manner, CV/Covering letter and they can't even reply with a letter saying I was unsuccsseful. Its extremley frustrating and in my eyes unprofessional.I Appreciate the advice, many thanks.

Don't be disheartened when a company does not send any form of reply. It may seem unprofessional in our (potential employees) eyes but, the sad truth is that these big companies more often than not, just do not bother. Just keep plugging away. Top Tip: Follow your CV up with a phone call.
