Help i have a problem

guys and girls,

The store i am in is starting to be hit by shop lifters again.
Iam a lone guard in vary large store. The problems is the scum have in- proved there tatics and have come back. I have tryed the same tatics from the last time but eg being on the shop floor makeing myself known, stand by the mean doors useing the cctv. What the do no is wait untill ive moved to another floor then strike or come in vary poshly dressed ( the store i work in is know as a bit of a poss store) so i dont notice them. guys has anyone got any ideas that can help me please??

sorry mate but you cant be omnipresant and all places at once ,get in contact with local police and ask them to be regular visiters for a coffee or get your tight shop owners to invest in more guards

Buy a cheap earpiece and mic and pretend theres more of you and ccth tv.....pick out random people and pretend your talking to them........creating the fact that the shop lifters think there being watched by more than your lonesome........ive that dont work then start TASERING them...that should do the trick...haha

It might be worth talking to your local bobby who should be able to give you a list of mug shots for the local 'whos, who' of shoplifting in your area. Most shopping centres/department stores run schemes in partnership with the local force. If their resorting to tactics like that they are obviously bang at it in all the other stores as well so they should be well known. if you can get hold of stills make sure you and all the staff in your shop are aware of them and dont let them in the store, as soon as they enter or are spotted ask them to leave.

We already have a thing called shop whatch with the photos and a v-good radio to the police and other shops. the problem is that the known shoplifters are keeping away from the city and gooing for the shops with out security. i have the problem of small time shop lifters.
what i have been doing is catching them on cctv then i radio i to the old bill that seems to work as they think that there is a under cover security in store. when i am on the shop floor they wait out side or hid in the store untill i have moved on. but i have another security guard helping me from another store from time to time who comes in under cover and follow me so when i walk passed the shop lifters he can see all. but like i say he only come in ones aweek an i do the same for him.

Another option is to catch them at it on CCTV get the best photo you can & then apply for a banning order & if they cant prove you are breaking any human rights in banning them then they cant contest it & if they do step foot inside your store you just detain straight away & have them arrested.
I used to work in a shopping centre with a tube station in it & that caused us an issue as we couldn't just ban because the tube is a public means of transport.
We had a regular who had had a hip replacement & actually walked on crutches & we couldn't ban him because he needed to use the tube station however with healthy kids it wasn't an issue because of another station a 10 minute walk away.

Another idea might be you in plain clothes for a few weeks but might be a waste as they might recognise you. worth a try if only for a dress down for a few weeks
