Default SIA Security Licence

I have been checking my application now and again on the sia website (best to use Internet Explorer) and last night it said that that it has been granted and I should receive it in the next five days..it has taken about 3 months..so good news..I am not bragging just really happy. About a month ago I chased them on my application after waiting 16mins to get through to a person, so my advice is to persevere.

Pash,

You're lucky alot of guys I know waited up to 12 months to get their licences. I personally have been waiting 7 months. My details were lost by the C&G, but the sia granted me time to resend the info they require to the C&G. So hopefully by the end of June I should have my licence.

Good News lads, teething problems always take a while to iron out, at this rate of going in a decade or so people may only have to wait 4 months!!!

A quick question Pash, does the sia return your ID docs after a few weeks or do you have to wait until you receive your licence before you get them back? Getting kinda worried that I might never see my driving licence and birth certificate again.

Your documents should be the first thing returned to you. I just got mine back from them after 3 weeks, I don't know if that is quick or not.

On around the 28th of April I contacted the sia to request the return of my driving licence and passport, after waiting the 16mins I mentioned before I got through to an Emma who said that they had been sent a few days before to a postcode (part of it) in London where I am not living so she said that she will try to contact the person that lives at this address to find out if they have received their documents.

The next evening she phoned me to say that the chap who we thought might have my documents did in fact have his and she was going to request mine and contact me when they arrived to her.

She did not contact me but they arrived about two weeks after our conversation..

Friday 2nd May I received a letter from the SIA stating that within three weeks of that letter I will receive my disclosure document but this document was with the letter, so confused me ever so slightly but good news.

Hope this helps
