Default Company/Business standards

Mate, trust that this helps. What you are looking at here is an accrediatation scheme similar possibly to the Approved Contractor Status here in the UK. However, the ACS here is voluntary and not compulsary. Similar European standards for quality assurance is iso 9001 and 9002. They may have been even surpassed by now, i'm not sure. In the UK we have BS 5750 parts 1 & 2.
please read below.

I.S.999:2004 Standard for Guarding Security
The Private Security Authority announced their Licensing Programme for the Private Security Services on 21st July 2005. They stated that certification to the I.S.999:2004 Standard for Guarding Security Services is the compulsory requirement for all Guarding companies as part of their licensing application. This Standard and its' applications must be in plae before the 1st April 2006. After this date, it will become an offence in law to provide services without being licensed.
The Standard provides a specification for those aspects related to guarding security services of a company or body providing static and/or mobile guarding security services, with a view to enhancing the quality of such services and thus improving the protection of items in their trust.
Advantages of the I.S.999:2004 certification include:
Enabling organisations to demonstrate that they control all elements of their operations.
Focusing on continual improvements of service.
Providing a systematic structure for planning, implementing and reviewing security operations.

The Standard now also includes Door Security and Event Security Management Service companies but does not include cash-in-transit services, secure parcel services, private investigations or bodyguard services.
This I.S.999:2004 Standard specifically addresses these four sections: Company Structure, Staffing, Training and Operations.
