Mate no offence, but I'm sure you now how to use the net don't you,do as everyone else does and start getting off your butt and searching for work as we all have to.Know one on here will "GET YOU A JOB" the onus is on you. Get motivated get a CV & Covering letter drawn up and start speaking to companies. You work for ShowSec so use that as a start. I'm sure Blackburn has security vacancies somewhere.

How do you expect to get job advice when you don't say what type of sia badge you've got? The different sectors are very different in the way they work.

Well it's posted in Security Guarding forum so I assume it's that kind of sia badge he holds
However willing to travel 10 miles it's not being very flexible to be honest, I work in security industry for as long as I live in UK, about four years and recently I travel 30 miles 5 days a week to my work place, but it's worth it, and in many situations it's saver to live somwhere else
I suggest you should be more flexible in times and areas you willing to work, especially on the begining.
Good luck and take care.

well, this message was posted by my Girlfriend(who is not great with computers lol) so sorry about the lack of info.

anyway, I have a door supervisors license and have previous experience within that role and security in general(most of my previous jobs have entailed me to have received experience)I am currently working for Showsec and have had an interview already for St James ltd in Preston, and I have one for Advance security in Bolton on Monday, I was just inquiring in about what I have to look for in a security role, like what sites etc, the only reason I need one close to me is because I don't drive as of yet(though fingers crossed will be soon)

I aplogise for the previous post though

Slap on the wrist for me then!! That's what comes with coming back from 2 weeks work and looking through 200+ unread posts - I didn't notice which forum it was in.
Most security jobs seem to be via the jobcentre, whereas door work tends to be word of mouth. The various forums on the internet are a very good source of jobs though. Be prepared to put yourself out at first, travel wherever and do cover work. You need to get yourself a reputation of someone that is reliable then the better jobs will come.
