Medals/ Recognision PSD

I don't know about you lot but I've been getting non stop, forwarded emails from people asking me to sign the number10, online petition for Psd members to recieve medals for working in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Here's my view on it.

1: Your all volunteers, nobody makes you work there.


2: Not one person working in Iraq, Afghanistan or anywhere else, is there for the good of the people, its for the good of your bank balance and anyone who says otherwise is ..........!


3: If you didn't achieve anything in the military, ie, Operational tours, then join back up!Simple.


4: The only people worthy of medals are those serving in the armed forces!


You'll see these people, the ego warriors of the PSD world, you know, the ones who always talked about '' doin selection '' walking around, usually have long hair and a beard in Iraq ( how many locals have you seen with a beard?) or have more magazines strapped to their thigh than you can fit and ' an SF helmet with an IR strobe and PNG attachment on'' Gucci! ( one such armored robot had an ND right infront of me not long ago, comical)


So, I say to those types, please stop sending your emails, I'm not interested

I agree sunray you dont join up thinking bout how many medals you gonna get and those that do will cause more probs than anything else trying to be a hero. . when i served you got your orders did the job and all you wanted wen you got back was a hot shower , a hot brew (as aposed to luke warm from norgies), and get laid

Unbelievable, it just gets better and better! What are these people on??? Medals for doing what exactly!?

I did hear through the grape vine that CRG used to give out Iraq reconstruction medals from the British Gov on their FCO contract!

Oh well if they want them, perhaps I'll start a petition for police to get campaign medals too. Brixton Riots. Broadwater Farm. Lewisham etc etc.

New one on me not seen these emails, maybe i have the wrong type of friends? or the right type? perhaps your safe list needs a cull TaffLC?!

Heard about the CRG FCO medal but that was years back and i thought it was ridiculous, maybe it's reared it's ugly head again?

Now where did i put the drop leg for my LandWarrior 2009 combatArmour(TM) SF MultiCam rig?

I did a stint in the Basrah embassy and was issued one of these, makes a good paperweight with the rest of my medals in the bottom draw, i'm sure the grandkids will get em out one day and play with em.

There is always the covetted "Defence of Freedom" medal if you manage to get a paper cut, blister or dose of the clap.

N.B. Mutley used to do anything for his medals, he received them on a regular basis..... but did he ever catch that feckin pigeon????
