Thank you very much for that information, you don't work for the sia do you? I suspect that BT have been duely compensated for their loss of contract because I understand that it contained substantial agreement or contractual terms. Compensated perhaps at our or the tax payers expense, do you have any information on that at all? look forward to hearing from you.

All,
Another number which will get you straight through is 01474325739 the name is Lisa. Hope this helps. The way I see it, the more we pressure the staff, the more they pressure thier superiors for extra staff extra training, whatever it needs to offer a more proffesional service.

Rob.

Carl, If I worked for the sia I'd hardly be telling people to sue them, or telling people to check with the CRB as the SIA aren't always sending them the applications when they said they have.
If you're going to start insulting people, at least check your intel first.

I in the same situtation, my work applied for my license in November and since then I have heard nothing, , I have checked on line and it says the same status every time I look. I have tried to contact them by telephone time after time and can not get through, I sent a formal complaint by email , fax and post and no response received. Due to new laws my employer who i have worked with for 17 years suspended me without pay in january until my license comes through....funny that 3 months down line i am still in same boat

I now want to look to sue the sia for the earnings i have lost and therfore if any one has any advice please let me know! also if anyone has any advice on how i can actually take my complaint with the sia further ......i know people have mentioned MP etc however I want to take some kind of action that will push them to take notice that mine and prob hundreds of others applications seem to have just vanished into thin air , it is discusting how the SIA/ Goverment can do this .......seems that they favour those that choose to not work and live off off the goverment rather then those that have worked day in day out

please reply asap as i desperate!!

"Liverpool Direct Limited is a joint venture partnership formed between British Telecom (80.1%) and Liverpool City Council (19.9%) in 2001. In a groundbreaking deal, the best of public and private working was joined to achieve exceptional results."

Poppycock... to put it politely!

The sia seem to make it up as they go, I waited 6 months for my renewed badge to come through!!! When i spoke to the helpline the operator stated that the scan machine that scans the CRB's into the computer was broken, i called back 2 weeks later and got the same excuse, i told her to go and buy a new scanner and she put the phone down on me so i decided to complain.

So who regulates the SIA? the answer is the SIA...

The SIA is government backed but should still have an independant complaints procedure and or body, the police have the Police Complaints Commission, Solicitors are controlled by the Law Commission, then you have all the OFCOM, OFWAT, FIMBRA etc etc... every structure has a recourse for complaints EXCEPT THE SIA.

I called the Home Office to complain about the SIA and was put through to the SIA department within the Home Office...So i gave the details and was promised a call back, that was 2 months ago and no call back..

Have heard of so many people threatening court action but nothing has ever come of it.. it would be a big financial burden for someone to attempt, i would say the European Courts of Human Rights would be the way to go if anyone wants the challenge!!!

Hi guys n gals,
Please read.......... as stated the sia is a government backed regulating body and as such they answer only to themselves OR the government!!!
My MP is Ian McCartney who is as about as high up the food chain as you can get without physically knocking on number 10.
I approached him and stated the facts on your behalf (I chose not to do my course just yet...... a nice cheap one would be greatly appreciated though!!!) as I am sick of reading that you paid your money and cant work because of the backlog.
He has asked me to forward all the details of LONG-TERM delayed licenses to him and he WILL ask the questions!!
Now I know he is an MP and the majority are over paid, under-worked, jolly enjoying pieces of shit!!! but to be honest this one is a decent guy (despite his affiliations) and he WILL ask the question.
I am not asking for all your personal details or indeed even your address just your full name, date course passed and application date.
I REPEAT......... I have not done the course myself so I have no axe to grind..... but I do have access to an MP who has offered so please use this offer.
PM me with the details and I will forward them in 10 days so plenty of time.
In the meantime.... check the doormat each morning and good luck.

Silent

Yes well it's a disgrace complete duplicity y the government! I have contacted my MP and this is what we all have to do and maintain the pressure, is there or has there been a petition on the No10 web site?

If anybody in the outside world paid for such a service privately this would not be tolerated! double standards I think! The answer is simple, more resources are needed, so don't set something up that is not fit for purpose!

Ime informed by a member of CP world this is why the hague will not ,when they bring the eu security licence out, give the time of day to the sia, they wont accredit it,or recognise it,because of the way its been handled, that will be intresting.
