With regards to loss of earnings, i think your best option is to seek advice from a layer, or visit a citizens advice centre and state your case. Your legal council who defended your criminal case will obviously have all the documentation from your case and that should give you a sound basis to take to citizens advice or a lawyer.
With loss of earnings cases you need to prove that there would have been earnings, obviously easier when you haqve maybe been suspended from a job you previously had. It's a little harder where you work as a contractor. You need to give a sound argument that you would have had work, how much you'd have been paid and all the rest of it. I suggest your best course of action is to speak to a professional on the matter. |

Good call, what are the chances of lodging complaints with OFCOM, or do they not look at companies like SIA???

signed it ages ago and got a lovely response from number 10 to say they are looking at the matter, made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside....for about 5 seconds before i remembered they tell you what they think you want to hear and theyre as bad as the sia for doing what they say they will.
Took me longer to get a new licence in my married name than it took for husband to apply for his and go through the whole process, and then when i finally did get it back, on the front i have my goolish mugshot and new name.....and new number (no idea why i needed a new number at all), on the back the signature strip had a printed signature on it...... in my pre married name, despite the fact they had my new signature....... I finally gave up i think unless i want to wait another 7 months and go totally grey. I'd imagine by the time they finally got it right i'd be applying for a new licence as my 3 years would be up. |

Just to add to the debate on this one, a mate of mine operating in Kabul has just told me that his employer will shortly be insisting that all Brit employees have sia license in order to work, however, the French, German and American employees have no such requirement.
Our government, via the SIA and spineless employers, are just bending us over and expecting us to take it and the real problem is we are doing just that. |
