Hello all,
Really would like a bit of advice on the current situation that I am having with regards to my license renewal. To cut a long story short my license is up for renewal in January so really I'm looking at putting in my application around about now. The problem I have is that I am looking to start my training with the civil nuclear constabulary in either January (which would sort the problem out) or April. I am in a financial position to pay for the license as I've been saving up for a while, but it disgruntles me somewhat that I have to pay £245 for something that I'm only going to be using for 3 months max. Is there a way around paying the full fee until I'm certain that I'm going to need the license or should I just bite the bullet, wind my neck in and pay the full price (reluctantly) your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

I have decided not to renew as I don't see that it has any real value for me or my work anymore.
If your are going to need it to provide an income prior to your new post then you will have to pay.

Dont beleive that you'd be able to get a liceince for 3 months bud..... If you have found a career which provides stability gud income and pension..... Id go with it, although saying that..... i was in same position in July.... however Im in full time emplyment and do gigs for pocket money.... Ive been lucky this since renewal that Ive done 5 jobs paying £150 a time with Chiron.....
question would be though once your in the Nuc Plod.... are you restricted from working other jobs...... |

thanks for your replies fellas, think I am going to renew as I suppose there's no knowing what's round the corner. even if it does p**s me off having to pay over £200 quid on the run up to christmas. Thanks again.
