Phil, You don't need to get the certificates themselves, just the reference number that you need to put on your form. So City and Guilds should be able to provide you with that over the phone.

I have been waiting nearly four months for my sia licence. My Application is still being Validated(has been for 2 months). The SIA are hard to get a hold of, and I have emailed them several times and tried to phone them as well. They promise to get back to you in 10 working days for any email queries, but dont. I have only just had my Driving Licence and other proof of ID documentation back!!!!!!. Maybe I'll get my licence by Christmas 2009!!!

Yes I waited a month just to get the form sent out. I went to my MP as like all of you I thought this sucks! If the tosspot government want to regulate then they should at least provide the right manpower to deal with the licenses! Anyway MP very helpful and had a call from sia (makes a change!) asking if I'd got my form to which I replied yes. Still here comes the hard bit getting it processed! They say 6 wks! so if not I'll be straight back to my MP!
Is there a petition on that poxy government web site? If not I'm going to start one up! Also send an email into watchdog (takes 2 mins and very easy), I did, got no response though but if enough people do then it would be an issue worth their time pursuing They don't give a monkeys, just another way of bringing in money while givng a first class rubbish service! |

my badge is up for renewal at the end of this month,im gonna struggle to work due to the incompetance of the sia. does anybody know what the crack is regarding to it being out of date because i read in the booklet (when i first applied) that you can only work if your badge is in their possesion,so if mine is up for renewal in a round about way its in their possesion isnt it?

I've just got mine, it took me a couple of months for my CP license. I'm led to believe it came a little quicker then normal due to me already having a DS one with them.
Saying that its noting to write home about- with its ridiculously big, and I mean big, lettering through the middle showing my expiry date! Forget about the picture, which is lop sided anyway, & the name eh? |

So I was told and they don't quite know how to deal with that!!!! I kid you not thats what i got told today, and that i will just 'Have to wait, they will figure it out eventually' which makes me feel so much better 28 minutes on holod to be told i will just have to wait....... did not make me too happy
