Can anyone recommend a covert body radio set? I currently use cougar, however I cannot find a private cost effective ( and covert) alternative.

One with an induction loop and squelch would be good.

Any ideas?

Hi Horizon
I use Motorola GP340 with Sonic Accessories- wireless earpiece and induction loop and PTT.
Works well just depends on how big you want your comms set to be.There are also Kenwoods out there that are good and easy to use.

Depends on how much cash you've got but the Kenwood TH F7E is a compact small dual band UHF/VHF which can be prgrammed to any frequency and can be fitted with an induction loop and hidden radio earpiece. The radio costs £200 new and the loops vary from different sites.
Try this link Kenwood Receivers, ML&S Martin Lynch and Sons Ltd

My god now theres a name from the past, Martin Lynch, a good outlet an certainly knows his stuff but could be a bit surly on the wrong day, was a good friend of a mate that used to review lots of amateur radio kit, Used to be connected with people from the old pirate radio scene which is where I met him.

Just going for a wander down memory lane now ha ha!

The Yeasu VX-170 is an excellent tough radio (needs extended transmit Mod) although not all the adapter leads for the are out there yet. The radio is water resistant programable via keys and once opened up to the full VHF spectrum very versatile. VX-170 Yaesu 2m FM 5W with 16-keys

I might be mistaken but I think there is now a replacement for the failed 'Dolphin' network. National Radio Network or something similar - if you want details of a reliable service provider that sent me the details of this new system, PM me. This obviously gives almost unlimited range and is on the TETRA network so it is secure.
