HELP wanted urgent!

hi im just starting in the Surveillance world and need some advise on what sort of course is going to be best and equipment i have to by to progress into a proffesional and competent operative im leaving the army in the next few months im only 21 but have always liked the idea of surveillance

Firstly there are numerous Surveillance courses out there and everybody has different views on which are the Best ones. Be careful and preferably look at Companies who provide Accredited and Recognised Training weather they are very established or relitevely new Providers. Also, are they dedicated to Surveillance and Training ? Have a look at the SKILLS FOR SECURITY site and also look around on this forum for other threads ect. Keep in regular contact with this forum and start networking and making contacts ect, it does make a difference mate.Any help I can give with regards to Training,equipment and Starting out then please pm me or contact me anytime.

Look very carefully at ANY training that you undertake as it all costs - and be realistic, accredited training is GREAT but accredited to what? Is accredited training a requirement just now? Also, if it becomes 'accredited' who is to say that your 'training' will be 'accredited' to the 'accreditation' standard? What is that standard? Also.....what is a 'qualified' trainer.......a 7302/7303 trainer or someone that has done it?

Well Surveillance is what I prefer to do and after asking many people the one that always came up was Peter Jenkins at ISS. They were recomended to me by the ex chairman of the Association of British Investigators so they do carry some wieght in the Surveillance industry. Give Peter a call or PM him as he does post on here. Before you ask, no I have no vested interest in the company and I am just passing on advice that came from many directions including people that have done surveillance work for some time.

welcome and good luck, try and find a course that ahs intructors that actually work in the industry as well as instruct. They will be up todate and out there doing the real work.
Do not fall for the we will give you work if you train with us as that is rarely the case.
Ask lots of questions of the companies who offer training.

Hi Ram Man,

I've not long left the Army myself, after doing CP for a bit i wanted to open my field of expertise slightly so i decided to do a Surveillance course. Could i suggest you do the ISS 10 day advanced surveillance Surveillance Training - ISS Training Limited found it very informative and very worthwhile, the guy running it has years of experience within the military and commercial sectors. If that doesn't suit you i would advise shopping around as there are some dodgy alternatives out there.
