Surveillance Trainer
Salary: £23,054 - £26,239 plus £3,295 location allowance Location: London 50,000 people make up the UK’s largest police service. They are as different and diverse as the millions of Londoners they serve. But whoever they are, and whatever their role, they all work as one team with the aim of delivering quality policing that builds trust and makes London the world’s safest major city. Effective Surveillance is a key element supporting a range of investigative commands. Right now, we’re looking for a suitably qualified professional to take on the vital role of trainer within our Covert Policing department. You’ll be delivering both conventional and specialist surveillance training to our officers, ranging from foot surveillance only courses to other bespoke specialist surveillance techniques. A key focus will be on crime and counter terrorism exercises, so a good level of experience in these areas would be a big advantage. As well as being surveillance trained to MPS level 2 (foot and mobile) – or having a comparable accreditation – we’ll be looking for experience of working on a dedicated surveillance team and an advance police driver qualification of MPS level 2 or equivalent. Wide-ranging experience of covert surveillance operations, first class communication skills and the ability to deliver in a demanding and dynamic teaching environment are also essential. You will also be expected to undertake NVQ training to achieve recognised training skills, if relevant training skills are not currently held. The post is a 12 month fixed term appointment. There is a possibility that this may be extended but this cannot be guaranteed. In return, we offer a range of benefits that includes choice of pension scheme, interest-free season ticket loan, generous holidays and access to an active sports and social club. Completed applications must be returned by 5 June 2009. |
