Default Surveillance in the British Army?

What sort of Surveillance jobs are there in the British Army? I know of the SRR, special forces, but I was wondering does the Army have regiments or other units that do some sort of surveillance (as much info as possible). I know the marines have some sort of surveillance roles as I think that is what background Peter Jenkins comes from. However, I had considered a job in the army for a long time (possibly as an officer after doing my degree) working within Military Police and eventually Close Protection but now I have got a bit of background on Surveillance I really think it could be an option for myself.

With the army still in mind, I was wondering what possibilities I have. Thanks for your time

Int core do some, the Army also have dedicated source handling units and humint sections (not regiment specific)
Its not a role you can apply for before you have done your basic training and trade training then you have to pass a selection then a course quite a long procces but do able.

I thought so. Just in the same way the police do? You become a police officer and specialise in those different roles. I have had a look at intel corps and they seem like a good option if I put the work in to it. Thank you for your quick reply.

No probs, odviously not much info is avaliable in the public domain, after all these are the sneaky bunch. Int corps is quite a deciving regt, its alot of niff naff paper work so i belive, but they run some really good courses too.
Good luck

Well it's either that or RMP! Can't really decide. Will hopefully get my 2 day visits to both units and see what they're like and how the operate. Until then, it's the Career office, feeding me rubbish pointing out every positive and no negatives! Then again, that's his job!

Once I've got the relative experience and skills under my belt I will be wanting to come out the army and operate privately or internally for the UK (possibly the police, SOCA etc) . Lots of time to decide though.

Default surveillence in the army

There is another unit in the army that does what you are looking for, not gonna name it here but once you get into the army ask about the a unit with a link to an egyptian monument. Again you can get to it from any regt.

TheRealDave before you leap and join the Green Slime- my former regt- check out British Army Rumour Service- there are certain issues with in the Int Corps at present, so look before you leap so to speak.

Kind of a covert rural observation post- without the covert or rural part. Ideal Surveillance experience.......

The Army route is a long long prossses if your after experience and to be honest will not give you as much as you think in the way of survelliance unless you are SF.
Am I right in thinking Therealdave that you are a serving bobbie? IF so why not look at Police service of Northern Ireland PSNI, They still get some really good jobs. Just a thought
