Guys, I enquired about the Manchester role, was promised a call, then promised an interview. I filled all the paperwork out etc. It was a total waste of time. It has been very unprofessional so far unfortunately. I think it may depend on what resourcer contacts you, but be prepared for some time wasting. Apparently the Manchester job is now longer available and has been filled. I know the person that works that particular job, so that isnt the case.
I thought it might be my individual CV but have also heard from other guys that are having a bad time

ANy comments on others progress would be great

hi jedi, i was approached by g4s for a job abroad as part of a Surveillance team/instructing the local police force

same as you filled in the paperwork/vetting forms etc...then was contacted to say it was all passed and good to go in about 2 weeks...i was told this at the start of may!! i have spoke to them and just get"we are waiting out" so it seems the same sort of thing, lots of talk no action!

as per usual with g4s though!

guys with regards to G4S and there employment methods I find them pretty unprofessional as you all have. I have lost count of the emails etc I have sent to the Global Risk department./ They never get back intouch with you, very frustrating. The Surveillance jobs which are advertised have been the same ones for months and months. Its surprising that they promise so much but fail to produce the goods, and as Britains largest security company,I see it as bad practise and bad PR. All I say is G4S, Sort your HR department out and give use operatives better contact details i.e Emails o an d at least reply?

Roadhog will become famous soon enough
The Surveillance job has been advertised since about March 07, went through all the stages and then waited and waited, got bored of waiting and went to Africa instead.

Gents,
As we all know in this industry, submitting your CV is just the start, you have to get on the phone and let the employers realise that you are STILL interested in a particualr job... early bird an all that, not trying to be smart just passing on advice that I was given and that worked for me.
Easy to say don't loose heart when looking for work, but stick with it.

Jedi13... ex-Para........Manchester? Drop me a PM mate

Regards

ACT

To the lads and girls out there
Take care stay safe
