DH Environmental Crime Warden Employer:Maidstone Borough Council Reference:Environmental Crime Warden (two posts) Salary:£19,426 - £22,074 Hours:37 hours per week. Working pattern:Full Time, Permanent position Location:Maidstone, Kent Closing date:06/10/2008 23:59 PM Based within the Environmental Enforcement unit you will work with communities to achieve clean and safe streets by effectively responding to environmental issues. Dealing with litter, fly tipping and associated waste crimes, strays/fouling and anti social behaviour you will utilise powers under Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act and other relevant enforcement legislation, including the use of fixed penalty notices. You will undertake pro-active vehicle/foot patrols, responding to complaints, carrying out Surveillance initiatives and identify breaches of regulatory requirements. You will conduct investigations, interventions and enforcement activities, delivered to a professional standard in compliance with guidance on evidence gathering for prosecutions, appearing as a witness when necessary. Through working with a variety of other agencies within the Borough, Council or across boundaries you will develop effective ways of tackling environmental crimes, including developing a range of education and promotional activities to achieve high levels of public and stakeholder awareness and participation.
